Summer Days

It has been a fun and busy summer. Two weeks ago, on a Thursday my friend SueAnn called me and asked me, "What are you doing today." I was going to clean the house that day, but she had the idea of taking the day off and taking the kids to Ross Park in Pocatello for a swim. I really didn't want to clean my house, and going swimming sounded a lot more fun. So we got ready packed our swimming suits and towels and left to Pocatello. We had a lot of fun. Even Audrey and Kaylee enjoyed chilling outside with Abuelita Emma. Emily, Kaleb and Rachel loved the littles kids pool. We also got in the "Lazy River" which is a pool wiht a slow current. You sit on big, round floating thing and let the current take you around. Is pretty fun, but hard to get on the floaters with three little kids. I got on one floater and held Emily, Kaleb, and Rachel while SueAnn tried getting on another one. When she finally manage to get in one the kids wanted to get out. We got out but had a blast just trying to get in the floating things. After a couple of hours of swimming Rachel, Kaleb and the twins were really tired, so we came back home.
Then that Saturday all of us (Zach, kids, my mom and me) went to the zoo in Idaho Falls. We met Rachel and SueAnn there. It was "Dr. Doolittle Day", so they had a scavanger hunt and games for the kids all through out the zoo. We went around playing the games and answering the questions for the hunt. It was very hot, so as soon the kids got their prices for the scavanger hunt we left. We were all starving, so we went to Chili's. After waiting about 20 minutes to get a table (and they weren't busy at all) and another 20 waiting for the kids menus, we left without eating. Since all of us were still hungry, Zach and I went to get some fried chicken, potato salad, and rolls from the store and ate at home. That was much better.
On Saturday we had the Robert and Sandi Giles (Zach's parents) family reunion. We went to their house and spent the day there. Emily spent almost the whole day in the hot tub with her cousins. I'm surprised she didn't grow fish scales because she only got out to eat and to got to the bathroom and then jumped right back in. At least she was having fun. Kaleb also got in the water for a little bit, but mostly he jumped on the trampoline and played with toy trucks. Like always there was great food and we enjoyed spending time with the family.
Like I said, we've been busy but we are having fun too. My mother left yesterday and I feel the fun and bit of freedom I had are over, but we'll see what we can do before the cold comes back. We still have a couple of months of nice weather.
